Description
Plate Carrier | Multicam | RAM Tactical
Plate carriers have their origin in the early 21st century. Where special forces quickly learned that being agile and having streamlined equipment was more important than a high degree of protection. Old vests that were especially intended for holding bulletproof plates with flak neck protection were exchanged for modular platforms. The employability was thus greatly increased.
The same will apply to the airsoft field. Having a large cardigan that has a lot of space for all conceivable pouches is no longer of this time. A compact plate carrier that fits well, provides ventilation and flexibility is increasingly being chosen.
This model from RAM Tactical borrows its design from the Crye Precision JPC (Jumpable Plate Carrier) that is very popular with American Special Forces. It has enough MOLLE attachments on the front and back for all the necessary pouches. The fixed cummerbund (sides) is fixed on most vests and contains an extra pocket for side plates. These have been omitted from the RAM Tactical vest and have been replaced by a ladder system. This ensures good ventilation, a better fit, but still allows the placement of pouches. At the front of the plate carrier are three integrated m4 magazine pouches.
Other models such as the Warrior Assault Systems DCS Plate Carrier are very thick. Which hindered the placement of the weapon system. The design of the RAM Tactical plate carrier has relatively thin and flat shoulder pads. For example, weapon systems can be well shouldered, but camelbag hoses or radio antennas can still be easily tucked away.
